New Treatment Room
We are really excited to advise all our clients that from February 2023, we have moved into a dedicated podiatry room located on the ground floor. We hope this will allow better access for those with mobility issues as well as allowing us easier use of the gym for gait analysis. We also have a brand-new high-tech Podiatry chair for improved comfort!
The upstairs waiting room is still available, but there is also a small, dedicated waiting area located next to the stair well on the ground floor.
Easier Appointment Bookings
From March 2023, the PurePhysio receptionists will be managing all our appointment bookings on 01423 525 150, allowing better access to the diary when we are busy in clinic.
Chiropody
We are delighted to be able to reoffer Chiropody Services to all our clients. This enables us to take care of all your foot heatlh care needs in one place. If you would like to book in for a foot health check, some help with difficult nails or painful calloses/corns, then please get in touch. College of Podiatry launches new Children's Podiatry Clinical Guidelines
The College of Podiatry in conjunction with the Children's Podiatry Specialist Advisory Group have launched a set of new guidelines on Children's podiatry. Jo was one of the invited contributors to the development of the new guidelines which hope to promote this area of specialism and ensure safe practice within it.
Orthoses Update
As with in all areas of medicine, Podiatric theories and therapies are constantly evolving. Within the world of orthoses there is a huge range of choice out there and ongoing material development gives the practitioner more scope than ever to find the best device for each individual patient. ProPodiatry is excited to be using some exciting newly developed materials claiming to offer superior shock absorbency along side some newly developed semi custom orthoses offering patients a greater choice than ever on fit and cost.
Semi Bespoke Orthotic News
For the many patients who don't require a fully bespoke orthotic we continue to provide a large range of semi bespoke orthoses. A semi bespoke orthotic allows us to manipulate and change or update a prescription whilst providing an affordable device that will easily last a patient for 12months, which is often as long as it takes to settle an injured structure. Thanks to BluePrint Orthotics Lab we are now able to offer patients a permanent version of their semi bespoke orthotics for patients who wish to continue on with orthotic therapy long term. These orthoses provide a long lasting device, using a prescription already proven to work at a fraction of the price of a fully bespoke orthotic.
